Wayne Inn

I booked a room while traveling and got there around 2 a.m., after walking two blocks to the hotel, only to find nobody at the office. There wasn't even a sign pointing out the office, though the bar was easy to spot. I figured the screen door must be the office, knocked and called several times, but got no answer. Looks like I lost the booking. Maybe that's for the best, but why have a hotel if guests can't get in? What the hell WayneInn, where was the office employee?

My brother stayed four nights and changed rooms six times. One night he had to sleep in one room and shower in another, and he even had to buy fly spray at CVS for one of the rooms. I heard that showers and toilets were broken and the air conditioning didn't work, and most employees were nasty. The manager wouldn't come to the phone when the front desk called, and refused to come to either the phone or desk. I'm trying to get some money back. There's something shady about this place. I've contacted the health department and other agencies. People in town know how bad it is, but supposedly nothing gets done. I also heard the owners have the Wayne Hotel, which is said to be worse. It's a shame these places can keep operating in a quaint town that's been featured in reputable magazines. I can only think positive reviews come from people connected to these places. I just found out the owner is on the Wayne Memorial Hospital board. How can someone run such a disgusting business and sit on a hospital board? Warning, do not stay here.

Niiice, they welcome pets, which is perfect if you're traveling with K9 friends. For a laid-back weekend away or just somewhere to rest your head, this is a great place to start if you're new to town. Honesdale, Pennsylvania has a relaxed feel, and this is probably the finest hotel here. It may not be the Hotel Pennsylvania 6500 or a days inn motel, but I think it's marvelous. Five stars and paws of approval. Theoretically, doves would approve too. Sorry this took so long, it takes longer when I've got nice things to say. Seriously, highly recommended!

The staff were very nice and made sure we had what we needed, and the second-floor view was nice. We needed somewhere cheap to sleep overnight for two people attending a wedding nearby, and it did the job. The room was small but very clean, with a double bed, cable TV, a little fridge, a roomy desk, plenty of outlets, a clothes rack, and a luggage stand. I didn't see a phone. There's no free coffee, but a small cafe attached has great brews. The mattress was hard on my back, though for one night the place was worth it. I'd stay again.
