It was so peaceful, and the location was great. There wasn't any A/C in the room, but the trade winds meant it was never a problem, and the unit got cold at night. The office staff were very pleasant. I'll be back soon. Highly recommend!

Falling asleep to the ocean about 40 feet away is hard to beat. The units have no AC, but with the oceanfront breeze and sliders and windows open around the clock, I didn't need it. I wanted that ocean air. The living room and lanai give you lots of indoor and outdoor space. It feels safe and comfortable for me and my family. There are washers and dryers downstairs, free parking, and high-speed Internet. I've stayed in 309 and 209, and both had amazing lanai views. In January we watched whales from there, and sea turtles swam just past the seawall every day. Each unit is individually owned, so some are really modern and updated. You just have to pick the right one. I love the feel of the property. Owners, repeat visitors, and new guests mix together around the pool and common areas, and it feels like a real melting pot. There are lots of new people coming to kulakane, and it's more family friendly than before. There's a small pool, plenty of chairs and loungers, and small beaches on both sides of the property, plus a great beach down the road. A grocery store, restaurants, and a coffee shop are within 1/4 mile. The on-site managers, Tony and Debbie, are the best.

The lack of A/C wasn't an issue since the wind blew right through the condo, and there's a nice pool to cool off in. There's no real beach, but you can get into the ocean, and a small public beach is about a block away. Restaurants, convenience stores, and shops are easy to walk to. The water views are amazing, with turtles swimming right outside the wall. FYI, the sunsets from the balcony are magnificent!

The complex's staff and groundskeeper were friendly, respectful, and did excellent work. The laundry room was clean and in good repair, and the garbage and recycling area was organized and very clean. Our unit was clean and basically in order, but the complex itself felt tired and worn out. The main issue is neglected capital work. The pictures we booked from looked quite different from what we found. The lawn is mostly green outdoor carpet covering maintenance problems. One corner had caution tape around a broken concrete patio with erosion underneath, which seemed dangerous. Pool chairs were stacked to keep people away from another similar hazard, and an orange cone marked a hole. Days before our stay, we were warned that construction and heavy equipment for sea wall repairs might make the lawn and pool inaccessible. Construction never really got going beyond materials arriving, but the area was already close to unusable. The management company sold us something very different from reality. To their credit, they did replace the broken cooler, coffee maker, and small microwave on the third day of our ten-day stay. The unit had no AC, but we didn't need it except in the late afternoon. It cooled down at night, especially with the fans. We left the big sliding Lanai door open with the screen shut the whole time, and often kept the front door open to cool things off in the afternoon. The ocean is so close that the sound of the waves lulled us to sleep. Sorry this is such a long post, but I wanted to be thorough and fair. Buyer beware. Please hit like if this helped at all.
