We had a great three-night stay. The host left us snorkel gear and beach supplies, the bed was comfortable, and we had everything we needed. We enjoyed eating on the patio, and there’s a shared spot where guests can watch the sunset. Some delicious local places are an easy walk away, and the farmers market is a simple drive.

Unit 713 was decent, though a bit dated. The bedroom fan only ran at one speed and didn’t move much air. The dishwasher failed the first time we tried it, and the pods left inside made it seem like it hadn’t worked for a while. One stove burner was out too. We contacted the rental company the next day. They already knew about the dishwasher and said they’d check the burner, but didn’t come to look at the stove until our last day, after we’d been there two weeks. I don’t mind washing dishes by hand, but there was no sink plug. We improvised with mugs that fit tightly enough to hold water. They gave us a small refund, half the cost of one day. Being in paradise helped make up for the things in the unit that didn’t work.

The ocean view is great, and the area is quiet, with no nightlife. There are food trucks and a supermarket nearby, plus decent restaurants, though the options can get boring. You need a car to go beyond Lahaina. You can hear everything outside from the rooms, but luckily it’s quiet out there. Building 7 has no amenities. I may be imagining some of this, but I suspect the buildings were once under the same owners and later split up. Buildings 1-6 seem well maintained and have beach access. Building 7 doesn’t, though you can still climb down the seawall.

The area around it is lovely, but the unit itself is badly neglected. The cupboards won’t close, and the kitchen utensils are melted and burnt. We also found used panties from a previous guest in the closet.

We’re in room 703, about 50 feet from the beach, but there’s no way to get to it without going through other properties. Building 7 is excluded from the amenities for buildings 1-6, including the pool, as if it’s been “divorced” from them. There’s a shower and concrete steps that look like there used to be beach access, but it’s now blocked off by a seawall and fences.
