We lived here for 18 months, and of all the buildings we’ve been in around Waikiki, this one was hands down the best. The common areas stayed spotless, the units had top of the line appliances, and the views were amazing, either Manoa valley or the ocean. The other residents were quiet and considerate, and we never had a noise problem. The HOA is pretty low for how well everything is maintained. In other places we lived, the fees were higher, but the staff were less capable, maintenance and cleanliness were poorly managed, and the building manager seemed clueless. The staff here are great and stay on top of things.
I live in the building and have found the location satisfying and the people nice. The staff are kind, accommodating, and readily available when we need help. I also appreciate the maintenance team keeping the premises clean, and I think management is doing an excellent job. Having a decent-sized pool and gym in the building is convenient since I don’t need a gym membership. I’d suggest the place to people who want to be good neighbors and are considering buying or renting here.
A lot of the positive reviews are misleading and don’t say what’s actually good about this place. I pay $4000 a month and feel like staff hassle me whenever they get the chance. I was swimming laps at noon with LOW playing motivation music to help me work out. Nobody else was at the pool, but a staff member came over and said I could only play music through earphones. Do waterproof earphones for swimming even exist?
I live here, and the staff’s priorities baffle me. My guest came to use the gym today while I went to put on exercise sneakers. An employee came running up from the lobby to tell my guest he couldn’t be unaccompanied. They’re quick to stop someone from working out, but do nothing to prevent bike thefts. A couple months ago, I paid a $30 fee to park my bicycle in the bike garage. There are no cameras or other security there, and someone clipped my lock and took the bike. The policy says they aren’t responsible for stolen bikes. You also can’t leave a bike in the apartment’s “common areas.” $4000 a month in rent to deal with this staff BS.
I live in the 38 story building next door, and the noise from this pool area ruins the peace around here. The Chinese and or Japanese (Asian) children yell and scream until midnight all year long. The Wave Waikiki was less noisy than this. Allure needs to redesign the pool area, maybe with fake palms like in Ls Vegas to soundproof it, because security doesn’t respond. It’s a dreadfully noisy place to be near. When I call Allure security, they act like they don’t speak English. It’s the worst overpriced per square foot, poorly managed condo/vacation rental condo I’ve ever been near. I can’t wait for twitter and face book to pick up my complaints, along with travel advisor. QUIET THAT POOL TODAY!
