It’s clean and does the job if you just need a bed and don’t want to spend ridiculous money somewhere else. Nothing glamorous or special, but the staff are very nice. You get what you pay for, and the food trucks out front are amazing.

The people who work here are very nice and seem to be doing their best to keep this historic part of the community going. The rooms are old, but this is probably the cheapest place to stay in central Honolulu. For a tourist, it worked well for an overnight layover. I wouldn’t choose it for a longer stay.

Bathrooms had mold, the building was falling apart, and staff treated me as if I were staying in a homeless shelter. When I raised problems with management, they brushed them aside and did nothing. The place felt like a high-priced psych ward or homeless shelter, and it wasn’t worth the money or effort. I’d give it negative 10 stars if I could. I plan to contact the directors’ head for an explanation of the conditions and the employees. Save your money and stay somewhere else. Stay away.

I booked five nights, from 09OCT24 to 14OCT24, and arrived around 2200 on 09OCT24. When I got to the room, I found there was no bathroom in it. The front desk told me the bathrooms were shared in the hallway, something the Orbitz app listing hadn’t mentioned when I booked. Since I’d paid in full, I tried to make it work. Around 1200 the next day, I checked the shared showers and found them filthy: mold on the floor, a terrible smell, dusty-looking tiles, and a random piece of soap on the floor. I wasn’t going to shower there. I called Orbitz customer service, explained that the listing left out the shared bathroom and that the showers were dirty, and was told I’d get a refund. I booked another hotel for the rest of my stay, through 14OCT24. Management said they wouldn’t refund me after I explained what had happened, and in the end I got no refund. They took my money. The place is a mess, and I strongly recommend against staying here. Orbitz needs to do a better job describing the hotel for customers.
