The lanai was dirty, with bird droppings caked on the railing. I scrubbed it off, took pictures, and then complained to management. The condo needed a deep clean too: the dark vinyl floors were sticky and dirty. The color might hide the dirt, but sweeping isn’t enough, the floors need to be mopped between guests. The website photos need updating because the furnishings didn’t match. There were no wicker chairs at the dining table or wicker stools at the kitchen counter, and there was an outdoor patio chair in the living room that wasn’t shown. The bedrooms had no closets for hanging clothes, and the bedding didn’t look clean and crisp like it did in the photos. It felt like a bait and switch.

The view from PH2 was breathtaking during our four-day stay. Mark was an awesome host from Airbnb, and the room was very clean and well maintained. There were excellent amenities that made the place feel like home. I’ll definitely stay here again next time I come.

We’ve stayed at Diamond Head Beach Hotel at least five times, in different suites, and really loved 201. The ocean view is wonderful, and you can’t beat the quiet neighborhood so close to Waikiki. One note for the host, rather than the review: we couldn’t use the beach chairs because they were broken.

We loved the room, the view, the location, and Hawaii. The jet lag was the exception! When we chose to extend our stay, arranging it was easy. Definitely recommend.

The lanai views from unit 801 are lovely, but the owner has let the place fall apart. The sliders don’t work properly, the garburator switch was broken, and the kitchen didn’t have functional cooking tools. The knives were so dull I cut myself. The photos are deceptive, and the towels, especially the beach towels, were very worn. The owner should remember people pay good money and expect a certain level of comfort and quality. Surely there should be some standard they need to maintain. Mahalo for your help when we needed servicing in the unit. Best, Dr. I
