Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach

I've tried ten other places in Waikiki, but after around ten stays here, I keep coming back. The service, cleanliness, and location are among the best. The pool isn't very large, more somewhere to relax and hang out, so keep that in mind. The hot tub is wonderful.

The resort fees are what drove my low rating. I prepaid thinking they were included, then found out at the hotel they weren't. It's $50 a night once you count the taxes, and when I asked what that got me, staff said Wi-Fi. I almost laughed. There's also a reusable $1 bag, two water bottles, borrowing chairs and towels, but with the beach a five-minute walk away, I don't understand the fee. Calling it a resort seems odd too: there's no real pool, just something ankle deep, when I'd expected maybe waist deep. Not having a restaurant on site was another big minus. There were some nice things about the room. Reception upgraded us to an ocean view, which was lovely, and we could use late checkout. The room was spacious and had a subtle pleasant smell each time we came in. The bathroom was huge, though it needed more towel hooks and I wish the toilet had its own door. Beds were comfortable, with pillows in different firmnesses, and the body products smelled really nice.

The staff were so kind and helpful, especially Lance. Thanks for your presence and grace. We had a great view of the fireworks from the top floor, and the rooms were spacious. I enjoyed relaxing in the pool and hot tub. Parking was convenient, though a bit tight.

When my flight got canceled at the last minute, they'd already checked me out, but they held my room and even offered me a larger one. That was so convenient. I really enjoyed staying here: clean, spacious, good amenities, and close to everything. The staff were very nice and accommodating.
