The little roaches in the kitchen were the one thing that kept this from being five stars. We weren’t planning to cook, so it wasn’t a dealbreaker, and the stay was still great value. The marina and dock looked magical at sunset, and staff were friendly. Our room had a comfortable bed, plenty of space, a big balcony, good air conditioning, and a well-equipped bathroom. There’s a nice pool area and two restaurants on site, plus six elevators that worked well. Stores on the first floor were handy, and everything else we needed was under a 15-minute walk. We stayed six nights in November and would come back.

The location was a highlight, close to the beach, a lagoon, restaurants, and stores, and the staff were friendly. Akela was especially kind and accommodating when I asked again for a higher floor. I’d requested one a week before arriving because reviews mentioned noise, but at first they’d only assigned us a room on the fifth floor and said they’d “try” to help. The room itself felt extremely outdated. Hair was in the bathroom, and there was no toilet paper, tissue, or soap when we checked in, so we had to ask for all of it. The balcony door was jammed and opened only about 6-8 inches, so we couldn’t use the balcony. The TV remote didn’t work; they replaced it, but the new one was faulty too. We gave up, especially since the TV was tiny. We’re still here and feel pretty meh about the experience.

The kitchen had a good setup, with an electric stove, microwave, full fridge and freezer, and pots and pans. The rooms were spacious, and you could exchange beach towels whenever they got dirty. The place felt old and not well maintained, though. The shower handle was rusty, and when I first turned it on, a blue-green coating rubbed off onto my hands. Hot water also came and went.

We had a king bed and a sofa bed, and there was plenty of room. The full kitchen made it easy to keep drinks and leftovers, and the city view from the large balcony was nice. There were two chairs out there, and the beds were more comfortable than I expected. The bathroom came with full-size shower soaps, hand soap, and lotion. It’s easy to get to Hilton Lagoon, Waikiki Beach, and downtown from here. There are two pools, one by the lobby that closes at 7:30pm and a second-floor lounging pool that closes around 6pm. Later hours would be nice. There’s no room service, and you may need to pick up things like toilet paper or bottled water, but lots of shops are nearby. We had a wonderful stay and will be back.

The way my parents were treated was deeply hurtful. My mother grew up on the island and was there grieving her younger sister at a funeral. Seeing her and my 85-year-old father, who uses a wheelchair, treated like second-class citizens was painful. We’re Island natives and Wyndham timeshare owners, and we’ve stayed at this property many times. My parents will never return, and I’d rather sleep on the beach than go through this again. It began when the front desk manager accused my father of wetting the bed without evidence. She hadn’t witnessed anything herself, and then made the disrespectful remark that the property “not being a hospice.” They also put a $3,500 security hold on our card for a mattress, which felt absurd and offensive. The room was adequate, though outdated, but this was by far our worst experience with Wyndham timeshares. I know not every need can be accommodated, but there’s no excuse for insulting guests, making assumptions, and charging such an outrageous amount. I would never recommend this place, especially for anyone traveling with elderly family.
