Most of the staff were nice, and I can't say I know how their system works. The system is what upset me. I was there for 11 hours total, including 9 hours waiting while actively bleeding heavily, with severe pain from what may have been a miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy. It was the most painful experience of my life, and emotionally awful too. I don't want to go back to this hospital, though I may have to because I'm still bleeding. I'll try to avoid it. At one point my whole body turned ice cold and I lost most of my hearing. They gave me medicine, but didn't tell me what had happened or get me to a doctor afterward. I read on my own that it might have been because I'd lost so much blood that my body was prioritizing blood for my heart. That's how long I had been bleeding. The only treatment I got was the medicine during that episode, and I don't know whether they knew I'd lost too much blood or gave me something random and hoped it would help. It did help, and then they kept me waiting. The medicine was given in my arm. I felt loopy afterward, probably from the blood loss, and laughed, but the medical professionals should have known why I was loopy since they gave me the medicine. I watched people who arrived after me get care first, including a woman who was laughing and seemed fine. She arrived when I'd already been waiting about 5 hours. Another woman who looked pregnant seemed close to passing out from pain and was left waiting an absurdly long time. I also saw a girl get care after waiting only FIFTEEN MINUTES TO THIRTY MINUTES. I don't know everyone's story, but people who seem less seriously ill were seen before others. Every trip to the restroom looked like a crime scene. I couldn't focus on reading or knitting, so I watched the waiting room instead. They told me I'd get the next bed after the cold episode, but I saw around 3 people called back to rooms. They said only 3 people were ahead of me on the list, but I counted over 9 people being called. One nurse gave me attitude, saying there were people ahead of me. At that point I recognized just one guy from when I first arrived that morning, and he was getting active care, being taken back and then brought to the waiting room again and again. The nurse was nice to me later, so maybe she hadn't meant to sound annoyed. I'm really not a Karen. I hate being a bother, and my mother didn't take me to hospitals when I was growing up. I had to tough things out. I came in because I was in severe pain and needed help. Waiting that long while bleeding so much wasn't okay.

I've never felt listened to or cared for there. My PCM was always unavailable, and after a year living here I'd never even met him. When I raised my concerns, they said they were too busy and told me to go to urgent care. I went to the urgent care on base and waited about six hours. When I finally saw someone, I spent two minutes in the room before they said they couldn't help and sent me to the ER. They didn't even try. I had rashes on my body, nothing crazy. I went to Queens West ER instead, and it was the best decision I've made. Don't waste your time going to Tripler or any urgent care on base.

This is a late review, but I wanted to share my experience at Triple Army Hospital. My parents were both in the military in the 80s and stationed at Fort Shafter on Oahu, Hawaii. My brother had surgery here to separate his webbed toes. The operation worked, and he recovered well. As a kid, I went there maybe 4 times for different issues and was treated professionally and courteously. You can't miss the hospital because it's pink, lol. My experiences were very good, and I'd recommend it to anyone needing care.

Purple scrubs, Blue Tesla, license plate 4M67, I hope your day gets better. You nearly hit my car several times while backing up to take a parking spot you'd already passed, the one I was waiting for. Maybe if you hadn't been on your phone, you'd have noticed. You were trying to get to work on time, I guess. It felt like a perfect representation of the facility. I arrived 40 minutes early for my appointment and was looking for parking, pregnant and dealing with a pinched sciatic. It's always a headache to get anything done here.
