Sunset Motel Hood River

The price was decent, and we’ll come back when we’re in town. For a motel, this was a pleasant surprise: everything was well cared for, and the towels, furniture, and coffeemaker were better than we’ve had at other motels. The room was small, but that was enough for us, with no odd smells or stains. The bed and furniture were nice, and we slept well. Our room was nearer the road, though the noise was muffled pretty well. One tip for room 121: the iron and ironing board are in a closet behind the full-length mirror. This may be the nicest motel I’ve stayed in.

I slept really well. The room was spacious and comfortable, and it was clean and well kept.

We spent loads of time at the skate park below the motel after the front desk lady told us about it. The family running the place was super friendly, and the location worked well for us, just a short drive from downtown. Our room was clean and felt good to stay in, though a few things could use fixing. It’s a clean little motel that’s handy for a night or two in Hood River. We’d stay again if we were on a budget.

The rooms were fine, but the reservation setup feels like a scam. The hotel’s domain takes you to booking.com, so you think you’re on the hotel’s site when you’re actually booking through them. A $60 “service fee” from booking.com doesn’t appear until you get the bill.
