Holiday Inn Express & Suites Hope Mills-Fayetteville Arpt by IHG

The elevator broke on our second night, and we only found out when we returned late. Our room was on the fifth floor, so my husband, who has crippling arthritis and uses a cane, had to struggle up the stairs. The next day they offered to move us to the second floor, which still meant stairs, just fewer of them. I understand the breakdown wasn’t anyone’s fault, but the situation could have been handled better. They might have moved us to the first floor that night, or offered a partial refund since we couldn’t use the elevator. I wasn’t going to leave him sleeping in the car. The staff were friendly and cheerful, and made us feel welcome. The building itself is old, with stained carpets, dirty doors and frames, and bugs, as shown in the picture. Breakfast was overcooked. The people would earn five stars from me, but the rest of the experience didn’t. The building needs updating, or the staff should move to a newer hotel.

I see Holiday Inn replied and asked me to get in touch, but they didn’t leave contact information for me to use. I stayed one night and it didn’t feel like the Holiday Inn Express experience I expect. The front desk staff were nice, which helped, but the room was the main problem. I usually ask for fresh bedding as a personal preference. This time I had to ask because the bed already had a lot of hair and little specks of other things on it. I was disgusted. Even after changing the bedding, I still felt uneasy, so I slept fully dressed in my clothes and hoodie. There was hair in the bathroom that wasn’t mine too. The food didn’t look appealing or sanitary, so I didn’t eat. I stayed because I was afraid I’d be charged anyway if I went somewhere else.

Nitsa helped us get a reservation at the last minute and was courteous and accommodating. The hotel and lobby looked clean and cozy. Thanks again!

For a short business trip, the room had what I needed, and I felt welcome and safe. The room was clean, and the staff were friendly, capable, and efficient. They went out of their way to take care of me. Great AC, plenty of hot water with good pressure, and lots of parking. Housekeeping came without me having to ask, which has become rare lately. The manager’s reception was a nice surprise.
