Days Inn Hope

We originally booked for one night while traveling to Nashville, TN, but found out there was a watermelon festival and extended our stay to three days. We really enjoyed it. The room was big, the bed was very comfortable, and the front desk lady was excellent. My wife says I'm hard to please, but I'd recommend this hotel to visitors and travelers.

My parents called after staying at the Hope AR location last night, and I'm very disappointed. They're 69 and 74, traveling from Texas to Ohio after visiting for my son's graduation, and take their time on the road. Having to pack up and switch hotels isn't easy for them. The room was so filthy and bug infested that they were afraid something awful might happen, couldn't sleep, and refused the continental breakfast. My mother has a list of all the terrible things she found. I travel often, and I'll look for a slightly more expensive hotel if it means cleaner rooms with fewer bugs. Sorry for the bad review, but the truth needs to be said.

We came for the Watermelon festival and usually stay at Super 8, but left it too late to make reservations there. Never again at this place. The upstairs patio was falling apart and unavailable. Breakfast was terrible: over the phone I was promised waffles, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, breakfast meats, cereal, and more, but the only hot options were blueberry waffles and pancakes that tasted nasty. I managed one bite. The room smelled like mold, the smoke alarm had no batteries, and the tub filled with water while I showered. There was a bent drug spoon on the shelf above the clothes hanging area, so the room didn't seem well cleaned. I needed a new key after the first night, and be ready to use both remotes to work the TV.

There were fleas all over our room. I have cats and dogs and have never seen so many. Absolutely disgusting. Even though we'd booked a non-smoking room, the whole hallway smelled of smoke, and outside the hotel smelled like dry cat food. Between this stay and the poor Wi-Fi at a different Days Inn, I'm done staying at Days Inn.
