Riverside Inn and Suites

The bathroom was clean, but the rest of the room was hard to overlook. The sheets had visible stains and smelled bad, as if they hadn’t been washed in months, and there was a lot of dust on the headboard. The receptionists seemed suspicious of me, which left me feeling uneasy and unsafe. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The woman at reception was really friendly and helpful, and I saw no sign of bed bugs or roaches. That matters when the room costs USD70 including tax, less than half what other hotels in or around Richmond charge, even ones with much worse reviews. Still, the place itself is pretty terrible: dirty rooms, a grainy TV, broken furniture, and gross bathrooms.

It was really quiet all week, and the bed was comfortable with great water pressure. The rooms and the property looked very clean from the start. The price was right too. I have no complaints and plan to stay again soon.

The man at the desk was very nice. I was there to pay for a couple of nights for a young woman, though, and the room looked pretty dirty. My friend staying there said nobody had come in to clean it since she arrived. Maybe they just didn’t have a maid at the time, who knows. Some businesses seem to have nobody to clean their hotels. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. I don’t know why people don’t want to work anymore.
