Travel Inn Horseheads

The room was tiny, the microwave button popped right out when I opened it, and there were burn holes in the sheet. There were also balls of hair on the sheets. Eww. The comforter had strings coming loose and looked like it had been washed too many times. The shower curtain had a black streak down it, and the room was dusty. When we arrived, two staff members were cussing outside the door while we waited. Very unprofessional. Maybe this is a cheap place to stay, but I was disappointed to spend our anniversary here. We’d booked well in advance, so what could we do by then? Ugh.

We found this place at the last minute while looking for somewhere to stay for the races. It was very late when we got there, and if it hadn’t been, we would’ve left. We had a basement room with a moldy, musty smell. There was hair on the floor, stained sheets, and a blanket with a hole. Rusty water came from the bathroom tap, and the tub had hairs and a bug in it. For what we paid, the condition was upsetting. We won’t stay there again, and I don’t recommend it.

It was a comfortable stay for the price, and the neighborhood was quiet. Inside, the room was acceptable, with clean sheets and bathroom, and the AC worked well. The place is a little dated, and the plastic chairs outside each room need cleaning or replacing.

The hot water was great, and I could use a microwave and fridge, but those things didn’t make up for the state of the room. It was so stuffy that moisture seemed to cling to everything, including the bedding. Under the sheets, it felt like I was sleeping on a soaked, stained bed. There was used soap in the bathroom, the bedding was ripped, and the chairs were wobbly and stained. I’ve stayed in lots of different places, and this room was extremely horrible. It should never be recommended. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE UNLESS IT’S YOUR ONLY OPTION!
