I felt at home here during my weeklong business stay. The kitchen was fully stocked when I arrived, and there was a welcome note on the TV. The front desk attendant was patient and found a solution when my travel agent ran into booking problems. The rooms look immaculate, almost as if the hotel just opened. There’s no rear parking, but I could always find a spot out front. Housekeeping came every other day and did a good job. The shower pressure was a little low. I didn’t use the pool or gym, though both looked very clean, and the gym had plenty of equipment for working off the free hot breakfast. Walmart is across the street, restaurants are within 2 miles, and there’s a Wawa less than a mile away in either direction. I’ll definitely book here again.

My family came down with the flu the day before check-in, so I called to explain and politely ask to cancel. The front desk person cut me off before I could finish and said we could cancel, but would still owe the cancellation fee and taxes. The fee was the full price of the room, which we never used. I understand that hotels have policies, but family emergencies happen, and I expected some basic decency. We were already dealing with the flu and still had to pay for the room. Homewood Suites is supposed to cater to families, but this experience didn’t feel that way. Do better, Hilton.

We got a very affordable suite for three adults, and the layout was smart, with thoughtful details like places to plug in electronics and well-placed bathroom and toilet areas. The room had high ceilings, too. The hotel seems newer and well designed. Coffee was available at 6am, and breakfast was impressive. We checked in behind some regular customers, and the staff were so genuinely happy and welcoming. It made a difference.

The property is consistently clean, and the employees who handle daily upkeep deserve credit for that. My one star is about the manager currently running the place. When customers ask for management, employees are often told to deal with the issue themselves, so there’s little direct involvement from the manager when problems come up. Those management issues have a big effect on the stay.

The beds were great, and the sheets felt comfortable. Breakfast was better than what most hotels offer for free. The service was very good, and the hotel itself is in very good condition. A very good place to stay.
