I prepaid through booking for a room with two beds and a sofa, but at check-in they wouldn’t let me in until I paid again, even after I showed proof of the first payment. They then put me in a room without a sofa. After I complained some more, they said they’d upgrade me to one with a sofa. The room was dirty and smelled bad, and the sheets were dirty too. I felt bad complaining, but after leaving my sweater on the floor overnight, it picked up so much carpet smell that I couldn’t wear it. Breakfast wasn’t served in the morning, and the pool was closed, though both had been promised when I booked. We left for the Holiday Inn, and I’m still trying to get my money back.

The visit was unpleasant. The shower head fell off, and none of the electrical outlets on the sink counter worked. Breakfast was awful: imitation scrambled eggs, white bread, outdated milk, very few biscuits, no orange or apple juice, and a broken machine. I always pay through Priceline, but this was the first hotel to charge me extra on top of the Priceline price. I wasn’t pleased.

We’d booked two nights at Baymont by Wyndham Hot Springs, 02/13/2026 to 02/15/2026, but left about 20 minutes after check-in because of the cleanliness and lack of professionalism. We arrived around 03:00 AM with our two young children. Room 104 had hair all over the beds and stained sheets. While trying to move us, the front desk manager opened an occupied room by mistake, left the light on, and didn’t apologize to the guest. Room 204 still had dirt and trash on the floor, and what looked like old blood on the bedding and pillows. The mattresses were dirty, and the staff member helping us seemed intoxicated. We felt unsafe and uncomfortable, so we canceled and left. They told us to email management to get a refund. Very disappointing, and I don’t recommend staying here.

We debated leaving over dinner, then decided it was only a place to sleep for the night. By about 4:00 the next morning, I couldn’t stop thinking about the other reviews I’d read. My wife woke at 6:00, and at 6:15 we spotted a bed bug on the sheets. We’d checked all four corners of both beds for signs of them, and the sheets had looked clean. The beds were comfortable, the pillows seemed new, and I didn’t find signs of bugs at first. Now I’m washing and drying everything on high heat so we don’t bring any home, and the suitcases are going to stay in the garage. I’d rather deal with a scorpion than a bed bug. There was no coffee or juice at breakfast, just stale bagels and Danish. The outside looked neglected, with weeds and overgrowth, and the hotel is across from a Trailer Park, which might put people off. It’s only a mile from the main street restaurants and bars. Our reservation was wrong in their system, and the desk clerk tried to charge us for a pet room even though we had no pet. The dated hallway carpet looked dirty and unvacuumed, with blood on the wall by a security light. Inside the room, cigarette smoke lingered, and I found ashes beside the refrigerator, as if a smoking room had been converted to nonsmoking. Wallpaper was peeling, the lampshade was stained, and there were bugs. At first I figured they came from the river nearby, until I found around 20 dead bugs in the bathtub. The bathroom switch turned on the light and heat lamp together, and the heat lamp timer was broken, so they’d wired them together. I’m not an electrician, but I believe that’s a code violation. The TV cabinet had about an eighth of an inch of dust on top. This hotel should be heavily inspected before anyone stays there, and I wouldn’t recommend it.
