Shamrock Motel

Room 107 was spacious, with very comfortable beds, and the modest motel was clean and comfortable overall. My two complaints are about the vanity. Although it had been upgraded, it was impractical: too high, with little room for toiletries, and the faucet sat so close to the sink bowl that washing or rinsing my face, mouth, or hands was awkward. That's a design flaw, not necessarily the motel's fault. There was also only a small bathroom wastebasket, no larger one.

The rooms looked nearly dilapidated, and there was black mold throughout, as shown in the photos. Management seemed extremely out of touch, and I believe they were often under the influence of alcohol or some kind of narcotics. We became very sick, and we've now filed a lawsuit against the owners and management, who hadn't known about it until now. Please consider staying somewhere else.

My friend paid $80 for one night here, and I stopped by for a quick visit. The room had no phone, the TV didn't work, and the AC unit was covered in mold. The floors badly needed mopping, and the bathroom needed serious attention too. I didn't take photos since it was her room, but please take my word for it: no, absolutely not.

The bed was comfortable and, for the low price, the stay wasn't bad. The place was fairly clean, though there was some nasty buildup in the shower. We felt hurried when staff knocked on the door at ten minutes to checkout, as if they were in a rush to get us out. The coffee machine leaked all over, though that might have been user error. I probably wouldn't return, but I suppose I got what I paid for.
