Oakes Oramel Inn

This is an awesome little getaway, very close to Rushford Lake and reasonably priced if you're not expecting mints on the pillows or diamond folds in the toilet paper. The appliances all worked, including the microwave, Keurig, mini-fridge, and hair dryer. The bathroom was spotless, the shower worked fine with plenty of hot water, and the small window AC was quiet on low and kept the room cool. But the dresser and nightstand smelled strongly of mold. We couldn't use them or even open them because of it. Please fix the smell. See you next year, and thanks!

Parking was great, and the room itself was roomy. It's charming, even if it could use an update like most roadside motels. There's a little frozen custard and burgers and dogs place right next door, and it's so good and inexpensive. But the Wi-Fi is terrible, no sugarcoating it. They badly need a signal booster. The water's hard, and the faucets and showerhead could use a long vinegar soak. The fridge was wet inside, and there was so much frost in the freezer that I had to unplug it to retrieve my ice pack. Four ice packs got left behind and are still being held hostage in the room. They could avoid that by unplugging it between guests. Our room connected to another, and we could hear the other guest's calls and TV until 3 am, then again from 6. Make sure you don't get a connecting room if you want to sleep. Fabulous.

The mattress was really good, which is the only reason I'm giving one star. Otherwise, it was pretty bad. We were there three nights, and they never tidied the room or took out the trash. On the second day, we got one fresh towel, and that was the only time anyone came in. When we called for more towels, they told us to call the ice cream shop next door. They were busy, but eventually brought some over. The woman from the ice cream shop was very nice. The owner wasn't at all. I don't believe any of these five-star reviews.

The best part of the stay was the snacks they left. The room smelled like a musty cabin, the bathtub had been painted over, and the sheets and comforter were stained.
