Management apologized for the poor service and said we should have been moved to another room, which would have fixed the problem. The night staff had given us two blankets and a rusty microwave. My boyfriend had ordered Olive Garden for dinner, but neither of us felt comfortable heating the food in that microwave. It was cold outside, the heater didn’t work, and there was no microwave in the room. The room itself didn’t match the good-looking pictures I’d sent him before we booked through bookings. We chose the place halfway between our homes for Tuesday 4/7-8/25, since my boyfriend and I live a good distance apart. When he arrived, he wasn’t impressed with the room or service. After 9 a.m. I went to the front desk and spoke with management. The assistant manager or manager was upset with the night staff for giving us those blankets and the rusty microwave. He offered a discount if we decided to stay and apologized again. I’m glad management tried to make things right. I also left behind a blanket that belonged to my deceased mother, and thankfully I was able to pick it up without a problem. Room 110 needs its AC/heater fixed, the couch replaced, some ceiling light fixtures repaired, and the comfortable replaced because they have holes in them. I appreciate management trying to address things. If they resolve the issues I mentioned, we might stay again.

The bed was big and cozy, and the room was fairly clean, better than some comparable places I’ve stayed. There were no roaches, which was one of the best things about the hotel. The rooms are cute and have potential, and it looks like they’re trying to renovate. Still, some amenities were limited or inconsistent between rooms. One TV worked fine, while the other couldn’t be turned off once it was on and had uncontrollable volume. One room had hot water and the other didn’t, and some features were only in one room. We changed rooms after being woken at 6:30 a.m. by a serious domestic dispute, but it turned out that was unavoidable in either room we stayed in. There was traffic noise, and each room had about a 1-inch gap between the door and jamb. If you can put up with the occasional domestic violence, traffic noise, and limited amenities, it’s decent. Could be a really nice hotel.

The quiet location made it easy to get around, and the hotel itself felt fresh, lovely, and relaxing. What really stood out was the welcome: everyone we spoke to was kind and upbeat, and the owner and his wife were especially caring. I felt at home here and would happily return when work and time allow.

I want to cry. The room smells of smoke despite being told it was non-smoking, and it’s dirty, with broken things including the door. They said the kitchenette and extra space would make up for it, but that doesn’t help. I’m only here because they overbooked my room on the other, much nicer side, and my choices were this room or paying extra for a double bed there. What’s a reservation for if it doesn’t hold a room? With it being Valentine’s weekend and already past 8pm, finding another place at my original price would be hard. I’m not even sure the microwave is safe.
