Drury Inn Suites Near The Galleria Houston

The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in, and we slept soooo well. The evening Kickback had steamed veggies, mashed potatoes, meatballs with gravy, hotdogs, and a nacho station, and everything was delicious. The drinks were just right, and the bartender made me the best Rum punch. Breakfast was incredible, with eggs, sausage patties, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, waffle stations, cereal, fresh fruit, and lots more. We chose this Great hotel in the Galleria area because we were celebrating my birthday at a nearby restaurant and I love the Drury brand. It's close to everything. The front desk lady was thoughtful and efficient, the room was clean, and I got a nice birthday upgrade. Amazing stay. I'd definitely come back.

The location was handy for the embassy I needed to visit the next day. I had a comfortable bed, a nicely sized room, and a great breakfast. There was a cool security robot in the parking lot, fun to see how hotels are using technology. Only one person was handling the front desk, with requests, check-ins, and questions coming at her, but she stayed calm and worked quickly. She had lots of patience.

Breakfast and evening appetizers came with our stay, and the area felt safe. The cars were in a secure lot with guest-only access. Special thanks to Cheryl and the whole Drury front desk team for leaving a birthday gift in our room for my mom. She really appreciated it. I'm giving 4 stars mainly because the water went out during our stay. It was a city issue, not the hotel, but not being able to shower or use the bathroom except by old-fashioned methods was uncomfortable. I hope it gets resolved soon. I appreciate the staff bringing water bottles and keeping us informed.

We opted out of room service when booking, but someone serviced our room anyway. The room had no staining issues that we noticed, and everything worked aside from the microwave turntable and the bathroom door hinges, which badly needed lubricating. There was no safe, which would've been a nice addition. The staff were friendly and helpful, and worked with us on a slightly later checkout. There's plenty of free parking, and you use your key card to get in. Breakfast and early dinner with drinks saved time on vacation, and were a nice way to relax when we got back early. We're vegetarian, so the food selection was very limited for us, though we liked that the spread was consistent, unlike Holiday Inn, which didn't care. I'm starting to like Drury for being simple and good value. They don't seem to have a large presence, but the few hotels they run are usually well located and provide a consistent breakfast and room experience. I highly recommend this hotel.
