Hampton Inn Houston Hobby Airport

The night clerk was nice, but the rest of the stay was a letdown. Our room was damp and smelled bad, the TVs had no signal, people were noisy in the hallways, and there was no sofa bed sheet. The breakfast was the worst part: sausage biscuits and pancakes on a stick to microwave, with no bread, juice, or cereal. That’s not the hot breakfast advertised online. I’ve traveled all over the United States and never had a Hampton like this. As a Diamond member, I found this completely unacceptable. There wasn’t quiet time like at other hotels, either.

The free breakfast was good, and the staff were welcoming and very nice. The hotel gets a star from me for its people, but the rooms are another matter. Even with Houston’s humidity, they don’t seem to clean well enough, and I believe the whole place has a mold problem. I complained and the front desk moved me, but I could still see mold in the second room. It seemed like it had been treated more recently. I didn’t try another hotel because it seemed like the places around here all had mold.

Tabitha at the front desk really stood out. She was friendly, helpful, and easy to talk to, and she should show new employees how to treat customers. The rooms were clean and as advertised.

We couldn’t turn off the shower, even though turning on the regular handle was easy. We asked for room service, but the front desk person was rude and said there was no room service staff. We had no choice but to leave the water running.
