Element by Marriott Houston Vintage Park

I couldn’t sleep because it felt like staying in a dog kennel. The room smelled like dogs and wasn’t clean overall, and the food was mediocre. I’ve had great stays at multiple Element hotels across the US, so I’d give this location one star across the board. I wouldn’t stay here again.

We ran into vehicle trouble and needed a room at the last minute. They got us settled even though it was early in the day, and also arranged a late checkout for the following day. The breakfast station had some very nice Nutella pancakes. Our room was clean, if a little outdated. I’d stay again if I ever got stranded in Houston! 🤣

Our house flooded, so we’ve been staying here with our four dogs. They gave us adjoining rooms so the dogs would have more room to move around. It was very quiet all week, and the rooms and lobby are really clean. They also have free breakfast, a bar area, and happy hour at 5 p.m.

My husband and I stayed the night of August 29 this year and paid a $50 security deposit. We left everything in order without causing any damage, but still haven’t received the deposit back. When I called a few days ago, the front desk employee told me to call “Marriott” (?). I asked how they’d know we’d checked out properly if the hotel hadn’t told them, and he got rude and hung up on me. I won’t stay there again at any location unless we get our deposit back. I won’t recommend the hotel either, and I’ll let people know they don’t return deposits.
