I'm writing this on day three while my husband goes downstairs to find out why we've been charged the full amount plus a $900 “approval” fee. We were woken at 6 am by the excessive charges, but the manager doesn't come in until 8. Must be nice. The showers don't drain. The toilets flush. Friends of ours got trapped behind the internal door of their suite. A non-speaking male employee was sent to fix it. He unlocked it, couldn't actually fix it, and duct-taped it instead. This has been the most horrible hospitality experience I've ever had. My family has worked in hospitality and customer service for 30 years, and I've never heard so many employees say, “I don't know.” Lora told me her birthday was February 25th, two days away, and that everyone thinks she's 21. The assistant manager wasn't helpful, and GENERAL got plenty of calls from Lora but couldn't grasp that she was incapable. If you're thinking of staying here, I'd strongly suggest you don't. Having “Hilton” on this hotel is a shame and false advertising. The only thing an employee could give us a clear answer about was that this hotel can't hold more than two guest at a time.
We came for the Houston Renaissance festival and got a space-available upgrade from a one-bedroom, one-bath suite with a pullout sofa to a two-bedroom, two-bath suite with a king and two twin beds. There were four adults, one couple and two singles, so the extra space made the stay much more comfortable. The welcome gift of two water bottles and a snack was lovely too. I'm active-duty military and recently signed up for the AMEX Hilton Aspire card, which gives automatic Diamond status and waives the annual card fee for active-duty service members. I'm really glad I did. Breakfast was amazing and included with the stay. The menu changed a little each day, with eggs, sausage, potatoes one morning, overnight oats with chia seeds, yogurt, oatmeal, a pancake maker, and breads to toast. Hot sauce, slivered almonds and other nuts, whipped butter, and the other unusual spreads were small touches that made a big difference. The staff were fantastic, and the owner was very involved. He asked about any constructive criticism or bad experiences, though we had none. It was a great practice and showed how much he cared about service. He and the staff clearly take pride in their work. 10/10, this hotel is very well run, and I highly recommend it!
I love this place. It feels like home, and it's my new go-to whenever I'm in the area, which is every two weeks. Linda and Kim are so welcoming, with great hospitality and recommendations for nearby food.
Henry Mesia deserves a raise and an 'Employee of the year' award. At the Homewood Suites by Hilton Houston-Kingwood Parc-Airport Area, he works nonstop cleaning the kitchen and common areas, taking care of repairs and garbage, maintaining the pool, and even making breakfast. He's humble, always willing to help, and really goes beyond his duties. I highly recommend him and give his service five stars. People like Henry are what make this Hilton location stand out.
I've stayed here a few times, but this last visit made it clear how much the place has gone downhill. The Wi-Fi was awful, like on a plane where you can send iMessages and nothing else. Usually that wouldn't bother me, but I also had no Verizon signal and had to walk down the street to make calls or use my phone. Last night a note was slipped under my doors saying the water would be turned off today. I went down for breakfast at 6 am, but it wasn't out. They didn't even have much water available, and there was nowhere to refill a bottle. At 6:30 it still wasn't ready, so I guess I'll have to go out for breakfast. The gym has weights and just one treadmill. I travel a lot and stay in plenty of hotels, and this is probably one of my worst experiences. I don't even like writing reviews, which should tell you how bad this place has become.
