Hyatt Regency Houston West Hotel

The koi pond and the sound of cascading water make the atmosphere really relaxing. Ask the front desk for fish food if you want to feed them. The bar had a good drink selection and great service, and for the cost it’s a nice place to stay. We did have an issue with hot water during our visit, but overall the experience was great.

I was here for a convention and had a good experience. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly, helpful, and efficient, and parking was easy. I especially appreciated the patrolling security guard. The koi pond is a nice visual touch, though the outdoor pond was pea-soup green and needs some attention. Maybe a few small oxygenation pumps would help. Aside from that, it was a nice clean hotel.

The photos I included show what this hotel is really like. The rooms were disgusting, with dirty carpets, a broken bed, and broken furniture. The front desk and management don’t seem to care, even though they know how dirty the rooms are. You get put on hold and then hung up on. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Spend your money somewhere you’ll be welcomed and valued, not at a place offering unlivable rooms. Totally gross. @HotelManagement, please don’t send me a scripted reply saying my feedback will be shared with management and the teams.

Check-in was easy, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed the quiet through the night, with no street noise like we usually get. Our window looked out over the pond and lobby, and the koi pond itself is a lovely touch. The rooms are very old and dated, though. We bring sandals for hotel stays, and even on a quick walk to the thermostat I could feel how old and icky the carpet was. The rooms could definitely use some upgrades. Still, we had a good stay.
