I ended up loving this location even though it wasn’t my first choice. Before settling here, I moved from Highway 6 and 529, booked an InTown Suite closer to that area, then looked at five rooms at five different locations before finding this one off the beltway. It’s hands down the best kept InTown in Houston. My room was clean and free of bugs, with no mold or rundown furniture, and the place wasn’t crowded like the other hotels. People weren’t hanging around the halls acting weird. The location works well too: I could reach 45, 59, or 610 in under 10 minutes, and downtown, Woodlands, or Crosstimbers in under 20. Most of all, I’m grateful for how Anthony, the manager, treated my children and me during the almost two years we lived here. I couldn’t have been more blessed in choosing it.
I’ve been at the InTown Suites about six weeks, and now I’ve been told I have to move out. I was speechless after paying weekly rent and waiting to hear that. When things had finally settled a little, we sometimes got the Wi-Fi working, which mattered because there was no TV without it. Housekeeping is supposed to come on Thursdays, but during my fourth week a young woman came in while I was asleep and changed the trash bags. I sat up and said hello, and she said she was almost done. No apology, but at least the trash got handled. The first day was already a mess. I’d booked online as usual and paid for the first week by credit card. It had come out of my account, but the desk staff still wanted me to pay again. Luckily, I’d just been paid. It took 20 minutes of trying to explain the math before we worked out that I’d pay for the room on my card and the $50 deposit in cash. I checked the room, then came back and signed. That evening, I started seeing bugs: little roaches, then bigger ones, along with gnats, flies, flying cockroaches, spiders, and bed bugs. The next day I got cleaning supplies and spray from Walmart. We bleached the kitchenette and bathroom, and had to go back for more bleach and paper towels. I would’ve moved out, but the guest agreement said there would be no refund if I left. We wiped boogers and what I can only assume was dried semen off the walls and bathroom door, then bleached every surface. I bought cheap sheets because the ones there were stained. When I stripped the bed, there was no mattress cover, there was a hole in the mattress, and there was a substance I can only assume was blood. We vacuumed it, sprayed it with bleach, let it dry, and put on the cover I’d bought. It may sound like a lot, but I like things clean and planned to stay at least 60 days. We set traps, sprayed for bugs, and sealed the big gaps around the windows. That helped some, but we never got rid of the bugs. The fridge doors opened the wrong way, and after about a week the fridge stopped working. I told the front desk about it and the mattress, then waited. Eight days later a guy who spoke no English came to the door, unplugged the fridge, and came back eight hours later. Nothing was done about the mattress. Rooms are cheap, I guess, but there’s a price for that.
What stood out most was how helpful and respectful the staff were whenever I had a question or needed something. My stay at InTown Suites near IAH Airport has been really positive. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and worked well for an extended stay. The property felt quiet, safe, and well maintained. It’s also very convenient for the airport, food spots, and main roads. Good value, a stress-free stay, and solid service. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for an extended-stay place in the Houston area.
The conditions here are unsanitary and unlivable. There’s a visible roach infestation in the room, and mouse traps throughout it make the ongoing pest problem clear. The toilet doesn’t work properly either, adding another sanitation concern. We tried contacting management several times, but nobody answered or got back to us, and there was no janitorial or maintenance service. We’re leaving tonight because this is unacceptable and unsafe, and we’re requesting a full refund. Nobody should have to stay in conditions like these, whatever their financial situation.
I’ve been here for over 30 days and still haven’t received weekly room service or the floor rugs that were supposed to come with my room. I’m making sure to do what I need to keep my stay comfortable.
