Moonlight Suites - Houston/George Bush Int`l Airpo

The room was in such bad shape that I left for another hotel and took my L. I'd asked for a non-smoking room but got a smoking one. There was a huge gap under the front door, with a pool of water on the floor from it; the bed had burn holes, the walls were disgusting, and the air conditioner looked moldy. In the restroom, the walls were splashed with what seemed like yellow liquid. I asked right away for a refund or a different room and was told no. Customer service was nonexistent. If I could give less than one star, I would.

It's not a top-notch hotel, but it worked well enough for us. The night clerk was awesome: she explained the TSA program over the phone, then made check-in easy when I arrived.

The room was clean and smelled good, and the beds were mostly fine, but one of the double beds squeaked loudly and sounded like it might break. The fridge leaked water badly across the room. I called three times to get it fixed, but nobody came, and the AC stopped working, so it got hot. Housekeeping walked in without knocking. Even though I knew checkout was at 11am, someone knocked when I still had 15 minutes left and was taking my things to the car. The workers were very rude. I'll never return.

The room looked recently renovated and was pretty clean, with a comfortable enough bed and a useful fridge. The presentation was good, and I was happy enough with my stay, though I wouldn't choose it first next time. A few lights had no bulbs, which made the room feel dingy, and the AC was off when I arrived. That wall unit took a long time to cool the room, which wasn't great in Houston in August. The worst part was check-in: you deal with staff through a window that stays locked when they're not talking to you, and the employee who checked me in and out was outright rude. If I hadn't already paid through Hotwire, I would have walked out.
