OYO Hotel Houston Southwest I-69

I booked at 10 a.m. and tried to cancel at noon, but was told I’d missed the refund window and should have canceled by 9 a.m., which was impossible since I made the reservation at 10. The policy wasn’t disclosed when I booked, but they’re insisting it applies. They need to make the terms clearer. At this point, disputing it with your bank seems like a better use of time than trying to resolve it with them.

The location is handy, close to I-69 SW Highway, and there’s a gas station, convenience store, and BK within walking distance. The security is top notch, and customer service was amazing. It’s an old two-star place, so the rooms aren’t perfect, but they’re well maintained. The amenities are decent and work. Laundry costs $2.50 to wash and $2 to dry. The pool is clean and nice, though it was winter when I stayed. WALLY JO'S THUMBS-UP

I was only there to deliver an order to a customer, who was kind and generous with the tip, probably the best customer I’d have all day. The place smelled like a juvenile detention center with no adult supervision. They wanted guests of guests to show ID at the office, but there was only one person working and a line of people while I was just dropping off a delivery app order. I don’t run into this at other places. For the customer’s sake, I hope he gets out of that halfway motel soon. I wouldn’t recommend it to a woman staying alone, or to anyone who hasn’t read the other reviews.

I paid for a room five days before arriving, but when I got there as the winter storm began, they told me there were no vacancies. They were still selling rooms while I contacted Expedia about my reservation. Then, after I’d arrived, they canceled it. That should tell you what you need to know about OYO.
