Rest Well Inn & Suites

The entrance looks lovely, but the room and second floor were a different story. The hall upstairs had a strong moldy smell, and our non-smoking room smelled heavily of smoke. It didn’t look like the photos either: the bed was on the left, the TV far off to the right, and one door opened onto a locked door. The shower had no curtain and reminded me of a prison shower. There were cracks in the room and a smoke detector was missing, with a wire hanging from the ceiling. We left without staying. Getting a refund, especially through booking.com, took a lot of hoops. Another guest warned us as we arrived and said they had left the same night they booked. The front desk representative was nice, though I wasn’t comfortable with her flirting with my boyfriend. I wouldn’t recommend it, even for a cheap room.

My brother and I left as soon as we saw what was going on. There was smoke everywhere, the smoke alarms had been removed, and people were stomping and constantly walking past. At night, sketchy people asked if I wanted to buy pot. The young woman working the night shift at the front desk didn’t seem to care and let that crowd check in, driving decent guests away. I’m Hispanic, and seeing the people staying there made me run from the place. It was a terrible experience, and the Inn needs to do better.

I wouldn’t recommend staying here. In the morning, the cleaning lady woke my partner and me by pushing hard to get into the room and yelling “TOWELS.” I also posted pictures of how the hotel presents itself on its website. The first room was nothing like those photos. The bed sides seemed unstable, the bed was untidy, there were used socks in the closet, and the room smelled strongly of cigarettes. A hole in the wall looked as if someone had punched it. The bathroom was badly deteriorated, and water was on the shower floor. When we complained, the receptionist came to inspect the mess and apologized, saying the cleaning lady wasn’t doing her job efficiently. We were moved to a room that looked more like the website images, but it still had socks in the closet and a strong cigarette smell. There was no smoke detector, the bathroom lights blinked or wouldn’t turn on, and the remote was missing its battery cover. The pillows were uncomfortable, and there was no do not disturb card. Reception said they didn’t have one. On arrival, the receptionist had greeted us and things had seemed okay, but the rooms were a shock. We had plenty more problems we could have listed.

I’ve booked two rooms here so far, and both had urine on the floor. I don’t know whether the staff or guests are responsible. The front desk staff have been very rude, and nothing is refundable. There’s heavy smoking, sketchy people, and people asking to buy blow. I was worried about my own safety and my car’s safety. It seems like some people stay long term after evictions or for similar reasons. The Inn is starting to feel very low class, and it definitely hasn’t been a “Rest Well” experience. I usually travel for business and have had good stays at Holiday Inn across the way. Don’t bother trying this place.
