SpringHill Suites Houston Hobby Airport

The location worked really well for me, close to the airport and with restaurants nearby, so I’d book again. Service was great, the bed was decent, and the shower had what I needed. Breakfast had a nice range of options.

The location felt a bit cut off, with restaurants and stores harder to get to. In the room, there was an unpleasant smell that stayed the whole visit, and breakfast choices were limited for the price. The toilet stopped working in the morning, creating a hassle before checkout. There weren’t any water bottles in the room either, an amenity most hotels provide. I didn’t find the stay very comfortable. Better cleanliness, amenities, and maintenance could make this a much better experience.

The suite was a good size and comfortable, with a microwave, small fridge, and sink, but no kitchen items or supplies besides a coffee maker. Breakfast was typical but adequate. The hotel is showing its age, although the room was clean, and the shower water was barely hot. The ice situation took some trekking. Signs said there was ice on the first, third, and fifth floors, but the third floor machine didn’t work, and the one on the fifth was in pieces and clearly being repaired. The old machine on the first floor was out too, though there was a small one there with some ice. The free airport shuttle was prompt and the driver friendly. We were pleased with the experience for the price, especially using a $50 Chase credit.

The staff were friendly and professional, and both the room and breakfast were great. The room was spacious and clean. But the half and half for coffee was literally thick and creamy. No Bueno! That’s why I’m giving it three stars.
