The location made date night easy. The hotel is attached to the Galleria, so we could shop, eat, and have drinks without driving or getting an Uber. The front desk clerk was extremely nice and greeted us so warmly I couldn’t help smiling. The room was nicer than I expected, and we were very pleased with the stay overall. We’ll be back for date nights, but we’d go elsewhere if we wanted to lounge by a pool. We judge hotels by their pools because we’re pool people, and this one was trash. It’s a rooftop pool that looks like someone just put in a pool and added a few chairs. I expected better from a Westin, it gave Motel 6 vibes. Valet was a little rude and barely spoke, sounding grumpy about people holding up the line. The top comforter had a stain, and when we called to have it replaced, nobody came. The Chromecast didn’t work either, and we’d been looking forward to catching up on Hulu in the room. Those issues were offset by the location and the rest of the experience.

The hotel is convenient, with a clean facility, nice rooms, and direct access to the Galleria Mall. We visited DelFrisco’s Restaurant, just a three-minute walk away, and could also enter the mall from the third floor. Parking across from the hotel was about $20 a day. Valet costs much more and didn’t seem worth it. We arrived on a Sunday around 1pm and were able to check in early. The clerk was friendly. I asked about an upgrade, but none were available for a double queen room. Instead, I believe I was given M lounge access, which was nice: breakfast, coffee, and snacks in a private room that needs a key card. Great spot, and I’ll definitely return.

The mall is right nearby, and free parking seems like a rare bonus for this area. It can get busy at night, especially on weekends, but that kept things lively and didn’t get in the way of my stay. I could reach everything I needed in about 15-20 minutes. The facilities were clean and modern, and I really loved staying here.

My room was peaceful and comfortable, exactly what I was hoping for. The stay was satisfying from the start: the valet greeter helped me, then manager Maha took care of me and made sure everything went smoothly.

Maha welcomed us at the front drive of the Westin Oaks and immediately helped my wife and me with our luggage. His professional, upbeat manner made the visit enjoyable. I’ll definitely come back.
