For a quick overnight like mine, this is a good option. It’s reasonably priced, though I might have gotten a better deal by booking online. I checked carefully and found it very clean. The room had Wi-Fi, a TV, mini fridge, microwave, hair dryer, nightstand, console with two big drawers, chair, ottoman, shampoo, soap, and towels. The laminate floor seemed more hygienic to me than carpet. The AC unit is powerful. I first thought there was no bedside light because there wasn’t a lamp or sconce, but then found a bedside switch for the can light above the bed, so that worked out. A small table that could go with the chair would help for eating or working, since the console and chair don’t work together. A clothes rack might be useful too, though neither is essential for a short stay.

I paid $69 plus tax, which felt like it should have been half that. This place is a dive, pure and simple. The building and rooms are extremely old, and the first thing I noticed was the door lock. I had to lift the door to get the deadbolt to work, which made me uncomfortable because it seemed so easy to break in. The AC had been running for three hours and only reached 71. There was no bathroom exhaust fan, so that probably makes the AC work harder. The staff member was a polite woman sitting behind the counter in a closed-off area. I didn’t see food nearby, and the pool had very little water with something green growing in it. The bed linens smelled moldy. After reading that review about the condom, I was scared to get into bed. I’m disappointed.

I wasn’t expecting much from this small, quiet place, which didn’t seem to have many staff. But clean bed linens should be the bare minimum, and these clearly hadn’t been changed after the previous guests. Around 2 AM on my first night, I woke up with a condom stuck to my leg. That was absolutely disgusting. The woman at the front desk offered to replace the linens then, but they should have been clean to begin with. We asked for half of the $125 night to be refunded and were offered $25.

The location was nice and central to town, and the service was amazing. The rooms were okay, though pretty dated. I found what I believe was a below-the-waist hair on one of the beds, so that cost it a star. The Wi-Fi in my room also didn’t work, which cost another. Still, four stars overall.
