The breakfast was such a lovely start to each day, with Chris serving locally sourced eggs, vegetables, herbs and fruit, plus her delicious homemade quick breads. She even set the dining table with different china and linens each morning. We loved the rooms too. Our family spent two nights in the Dylan and Tessa rooms, both with fresh flowers from Chris' garden, interesting artwork and crisp linens on very comfortable beds. The beautifully restored house brings vintage Italian and American furnishings together with original art throughout. Westcott House B&B is right in town, just steps from the antique shops, restaurants and all the energy of Hudson. Chris made us feel completely at home, and her warm welcome made the whole stay a delight. We can't recommend it enough and are already looking forward to coming back.

The owner ignored our message about the stay, even though we wrote first to give her a chance to respond before posting a review. We've visited Hudson many times, and only booked this B&B because the places we usually stayed were unavailable. We found those other places more welcoming and better equipped. The traffic made it hard to sleep. Trucks going by caused the room to shake, and we think guests should be warned to bring earplugs. Our room was also uncomfortably cold, so we couldn't relax there. The living room wasn't a comfortable alternative because of the smell upstairs. There was a strong dog urine odor when we entered the house. Luckily, it wasn't in our bedroom, but it was quite potent upstairs. We were also surprised by the owner's response to our parking ticket. Hudson's parking restrictions are only shown on small signs at the city entrances, with no signs on individual streets. The owner said the issue had come up with the City and was hurting tourism. When we went to dispute the ticket, City staff told us the B&B owner should have explained the rules or offered to pay it. We agree, especially given what we paid for the room. Each issue might have seemed minor alone, but together they had a significant effect on our stay.

The location made it easy to walk everywhere, from the shops and cafes to the restaurants. Chris was so friendly and welcoming, and the house is beautifully decorated. Our room was spacious and quiet, with a modern bathroom and AC. Breakfast was delicious too. We stayed two nights and I'd happily recommend it.

The house was beautiful, the food was delicious, and our innkeeper was very welcoming and knowledgeable. We had a great visit and would recommend staying here. A couple of things were different from other B&Bs we've been to: the bed wasn't made each day, and we had to ask for fresh towels instead of having them replaced.

Wescott House was a lovely place to come back to after exploring, and it was immaculate. The bed was comfortable, the decor gorgeous, and Chris was a gracious host who started our mornings with a yummy home-cooked breakfast. She also had great suggestions for shops and places to eat. We spent our first day walking around town, then hiked the blue trail at nearby Greenport Conservation Area from the start to Harrier Hill. It took about three hours and had woods, streams and river views. The trail can be muddy after rain. On day three, we visited Olana on a stunning sunny spring day. All great experiences. We had a wonderful weekend during our early April stay this year. Hudson is beautiful in spring and fall, and Wescott House is a great base for enjoying the area. We'll definitely stay again.
