We stayed in the M&M room during Halloween week, and it really felt like being in someone’s home. The decor was cute and comfortable, the room cozy, and there was enough closet space for our clothes. I liked the high ceilings in the lovely bathroom, and the bedroom fan was great. The house was kept at a comfortable temperature, too. The bed was comfy, and the windows were nice, with a view of our car outside. Breakfast was delicious and fun to try: omelet one morning, French toast the next. The hosts were kind, and we could come and go whenever we liked. It’s just off the main road, about an hour from Salem. We’d stay here again when we return to Salem, Massachusetts. Thanks for being so hospitable!
The ferry to Boston was only about 10 minutes away, which made this a handy base for visiting the city. Hull and Hingham were lovely surprises, too. Annemarie suggested a coastal drive through the quaint towns and knew the area, including its restaurants, inside out. My wife and I stayed four nights at Josephine's in July 2021, and every morning Annemarie and Bob cooked a different, equally delicious breakfast. Annemarie was happy to work around our schedule, even offering to serve breakfast earlier on a day we needed an early start. She also accommodates dietary needs. If you’re looking for a real bed-and-breakfast stay, we’d absolutely recommend Josephine's.
I came back to my hometown of Hull for a school reunion and wanted somewhere more personal than a standard hotel. Josephine's was a great choice. I had the M & M, the smallest of the three rooms, and it was just right for one person. It was very quiet, too. And the breakfast was to die for. AnnMarie is a terrific cook. I’d recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone visiting the South Shore, and I hope to stay here whenever I’m lucky enough to come home again.
She was so helpful, including telling us about the ferry to Boston, and she worked around all my dietary restrictions. My boyfriend and I spent two nights here and loved it. The breakfast was scrumptious. I’d definitely recommend staying!
