Super 8 Motel - Humble/fm 1960/hwy 59

My son and I have been here a few days and will stay until Friday. The staff have been helpful and polite whenever I've been to the check-in desk, and breakfast was fine. They told me it runs from 6-9 every morning, so we get up in time to eat. There was cereal, muffins, cinnamon rolls, and waffles, a decent selection, and everything was nice and clean. Room cleaning is offered daily at the same time, with fresh towels and the whole room cleaned. Just ask if you need fresh sheets or extra towels. They've made a rough week a lot easier for my son and me, and I'd recommend this place in a heartbeat.

My first stay here, when I came from Atlanta to Houston, was great. The room was so neat and clean I could wear white socks without getting them dirty. But on my last three visits, the rooms haven't been clean. The shower floors had rust stains, the floors were gritty and dirty, and housekeeping wasn't doing a good job. This last visit was the worst, with brown spots on the sheets and pillows. They moved me to another room, but its floors were dirty too and the shower had rust stains. I'm disappointed that this hotel has gone downhill so much. I like Wyndham hotels, and Super 8 is a subsidiary. We'll have to find another hotel that meets our standards, especially during COVID 19 season.

The room was decent, clean, and roomy. I liked the outdoor pool, and the water wasn't cold, so a night swim was pleasant. My main complaint was the night clerk's attitude. He already seemed unhappy to be working, and when I mentioned I had two children with me, he got worse. I hoped he'd get some sleep and be happier by morning, but when I returned my key, it was the same guy with the same bad attitude.

The pool was nice for cooling off, and breakfast was reasonable. Check-in was quick and the rooms were clean. The A/C unit took longer to cool the room than I'd have liked, and there weren't many TV channels to choose from. Still, the stay was quite pleasant, and if I'm in the area again, I'll check in here before trying another hotel.
