The ocean was about a one-minute walk from the apartment, and we had a lot of fun. Mindy was super nice and helpful, and the rooms are quite nice. There’s a grill and a campfire, and she may have boogie boards you can use. Across the street, a surf shop rents wetsuits cheaply if you want to take the boards out in winter.

It’s just steps from the beach, and although the units are small, they’re adequate. The decor is very nice. There’s a dorm-size fridge, so don’t buy too many groceries at once, and a portable indoor AC unit that worked fine during our May visit. The building sits right at ground level, so bring slippers. Internet, premium TV shows, and a phone are included. The woman there quickly got our TV working. We’ve stayed twice through global connections. Honestly, Mom was upset at first by how tiny it was, but the positives outweighed the cons.

The property manager was very rude. I booked two rooms, and only after paying did I learn children weren’t allowed. She refused to refund me and kept calling to tell me I wouldn’t be able to use the rooms because I had children. There’s no AC in summer, the place is about 10 feet from a biker bar, and I don’t think you’ll be able to sleep. Parking spots require a compact car, otherwise you have to park on a busy street. The apartment doesn’t even have a full-size refrigerator, and it’s very outdated. Don’t waste your money.

We were miserable enough here that we rented somewhere else for five of our seven vacation nights. Mindy, the manager, was horrible. She came into our room whenever she felt like it and took personal property, saying it wasn’t allowed, without even talking to us. It felt like she was treating us like five-year-olds. The room was miserably hot with no AC, and with homeless people everywhere in the area, we didn’t feel safe leaving doors and windows open to cool it down. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Mindy should be replaced with someone less intrusive and combative.
