Randolph Hotel

I’ve never felt so nauseated. The room had roaches, a leaking sink, a broken TV, and a broken smoke alarm, and they refused to fix the amenities. The front door to the building would lock randomly. When I told them what was wrong, they asked what the problem was and then blamed me for it. After I posted this, the owner harassed my partner and me and said he was going to call the cops. We need a refund.

The location was good and this is probably one of the cheapest weekly places around, but the room was crawling with roaches and I had to clean it just to make it livable. When I arrived, the floor was filthy. I mopped it myself and the water came up black, and there were food stains all over the walls. I told the manager the room was dirty and even took my blanket to the laundry room to wash it. He was nice and accommodating about that, and there didn’t seem to be a problem then. About a week into my trip, the shower started backing up. After three days of showering in backed-up water, I told the host. I asked if I could move to another floor or into one of the rooms with an attached bathroom, since those rooms exist. He refused, and I asked why I couldn’t get an accommodation so I wouldn’t have to use a nasty shower. Because the attached-bathroom rooms were occupied by Hispanic guests and none by Black guests, I asked whether he was being racist or prejudiced against Black people. He got offended, I guess, and canceled my reservation. He also said he was Black, though he is Indian. I’m not going to fight over a place this cheap and roach infested.

I stayed here before, back in Nov 2025, and there was no problem then. When I tried to book today, at the end of January 2026, during Black History Month, he rejected me for no reason. He said I was bothering him but wouldn’t explain why I couldn’t rent a room. I haven’t done anything wrong at the hotel and don’t cause problems with anyone. I feel he discriminated against me as a Black man. This was unprofessional and wrong. Someone needs to report this hotel.

Does anyone know who owns this hotel? I need to contact him about my stay. I paid $440 for the first week, then $390 a week, and my wife and I ended up with bites on our legs and arms from bedbugs. I have photos and video showing them under the mattress and box spring in second-floor room X. I want a full refund or I’m going to sue the owner.
