The bed was probably the best part of the cabin, very comfortable, and we liked the friendly employees, the convenient, really good cafe, the nearby walking path, and the front porch for our pups. The town is super cute, and the AC worked great in the summer heat. But I don't think cabin 301 had been cleaned before my boyfriend and I stayed there over the weekend. There was trash behind the futon, women's hair on the shower wall, a clogged sink, a dirty fridge, dust behind the TV, gunk on the dryer cord, and stains and crumbs on the futon and lamp shade. I don't think the linens were clean either. I smelled them, and they didn't smell fresh, so we slept on top of the covers. I understand some wear and tear in a pet-friendly place, but built-up dirt, trash, and possibly unwashed bedding aren't okay. I wish we'd chosen the hotel instead. I hope the next guests have a better experience. Aside from the cleanliness, which is an easy fix, I do recommend staying here for the location and other things we enjoyed.

The location is handy, close to downtown and the hot springs, and the place has a homey feel. But the room temperature was hard to manage: even set to 66, the fan blew intensely hot air and made the room warm, so I had to turn it off overnight. Noise is the bigger concern. The walls, ceiling, and hardwood floors are thin, and I could hear normal conversation next door as well as people walking above me. Neighbors seem likely, so if you’re sensitive to sound, I’d avoid this hotel, or at least the lower level.

I booked this place while displaced by the power outages and just needing somewhere clean and reasonably priced to stay warm. The owners were so friendly and welcoming, and the room was comfortable, clean, thoughtfully designed, and pet friendly. I’m really glad I found the lodge. One funny detail: my cat was scared of the double-blade ceiling fan, which I guess looked like a giant eagle to her. I’d happily stay here again, ideally on a fun trip next time instead of because of an outage.

The cafe’s breakfast burrito was one of the best I’ve had, and the food there was great. The room was spotless and had everything I needed, from a very comfortable bed and plenty of pillows to a big TV with lots of channels, reliable internet, a small work desk, and a roomy chair. Phil was exceptionally accommodating, and his wife runs the cafe. After a long day touring the area, she even brought my meal to the room one evening. Their dog Miles Davis was there too. Phil, Vicky, and Miles Davis made me feel like I was staying with family, and they were gracious throughout. I loved my time at Spring Lodge and Cafe and would highly recommend it for a trip to the area.

The rooms were clean and roomy enough for us to set up a pack and play, and the shower got nice and hot. We also liked that the lobby stayed open late and sold bottles of wine. There’s a restaurant on site that opens early, which was convenient for getting on the road. We arrived, walked around town, and found a lovely little shop with cute home decor and fresh local groceries. The owners were very friendly, and the hospitality here was top notch. A lovely little place to spend the night.
