Comfort Inn Huntington near University area

The beds were comfortable, and I liked the big, heavy blanket. Breakfast was good, the pool was nice, and the front desk staff were pleasant. I would stay again, though the seasonal price changes seem crazy. A few things need attention. The alarm went off at 5:30 and woke us up, even though we were sleeping well. Guests shouldn’t have to check whether an alarm is set. The hot tub jets sprayed water onto the floor, and the water wasn’t even hot. The showerheads were really gross and need a proper cleaning. In the bathroom, wallpaper was peeling and held up with staples and white caulk. It would be easier to remove it, repair the wall, and use textured paint. The TVs are outdated, and at $212 a night, they could probably replace them. A 32-inch TV is about $98 now.

Breakfast was hot and fresh, and the location is handy, just off the interstate with a gas station next door and food nearby. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had a jacuzzi tub. There’s also a pool and hot tub. I’d definitely stay here again.

The ceiling was covered in cobwebs, and there was mold in the corners of the main room, in the shower, and behind the wallpaper. The wallpaper was wrinkled and stapled up, like they were trying to hide the problem. Absolutely disgusting. Even a few hours or a night in a moldy room can leave people with a stuffy or runny nose, cough or sore throat, burning or itchy eyes, headaches, skin irritation, fatigue, or worse asthma for anyone who has it.

The hotel was neat and clean, and the location is convenient. We checked in smoothly after midnight, so that part was fine. The checkout experience, though, left a bad impression. At exactly 11:00 am, they called to say it was time to leave. I politely asked for another 15-20 minutes, but a staff member came to the room shortly after and told us we had to go. I wasn’t asking for an extra hour or two, just a little leeway, especially since we’d checked in so late. It felt rushed and frustrating.
