The rooms were fine and breakfast was pretty good. The downtown Huntington location is nice, but the customer service was really disappointing during our visit. We’d reserved an accessible room for my sister in law, who was in town for her son’s funeral. On arrival, we were told it wasn’t available and were given a “hearing accessible” room instead. Its doorbell light blinked when someone rang, which didn’t help us. We showed the reservation printout listing an accessible room, but the desk woman shrugged and said nothing could be done. We’d also called ahead to request a late checkout on our last day and were told it would be fine. The same woman then said it wasn’t possible and suggested we “hang out” in the breakfast room. When we reminded her what we’d been told by phone, she said there was no note in the reservation and shrugged again.

The price was an exceptional bargain for the location, friendliness, cleanliness, and quality. My dad and I were going to a concert at the Paramount Theater, just about a five-minute walk away, so we stayed here. Every staff member we encountered had a smiling face and made it easy to feel cared for. I could thank them all by name, but that would make this too long. Go meet them for yourself!

I keep coming back to the Hampton Inn & Suites Huntington Downtown because Nathalie Tolentino and Joselyn Torres take such good care of me. For my 11/30/25 stay, Nathalie helped find the room that best suited my needs, as she’s done before. She listens and looks after what I need from the hotel. Joselyn also got me into my room earlier than planned to fit my arrival time. They’re both sincere and helpful, and excellent representatives of the hotel. The customer service is topnotch.

The walls are so thin we could clearly hear normal conversations from the rooms right next to us. At $400 a night for a two-bed room, it would take a lot to convince me to stay again. We were in town for a wedding and chose the hotel partly because a representative had agreed, when we booked, that we could take bridal photos in the lounge. While we were taking them, a rude manager kept giving us dirty looks and nagging us for moving a few chairs. She scolded us like children for turning off the TV. Sorry, but basketball games don’t make a good background for wedding pictures! Nobody else was in the lounge, we weren’t bothering anyone, and we planned to put everything back.

Valet parking goes from $10 to $20 every day at 5pm. What the heck? There’s free parking on the street and in the lot across main street. When I asked the manager about a billing error, he yelled before I could get two words out, like he thought he could read my mind. The front desk staff were incompetent. The room was bad, the service and attitude were bad, and the shower pressure was very weak. Go to the YMCA down the street if you want a good shower. Don’t stay here.
