Royal Inn Suites

My son stayed here over the weekend with family and came home covered in bed bug bites. After reading other reviews about bed bugs, that didn’t surprise me. If proper housekeeping can’t be trusted, it’s an immediate one star from me. The pool was out of order too.

The tub was slimy, the floor was so dirty I wouldn’t walk on it without socks, and we heard noise constantly. There was no room service all week. I politely asked for towels several times and never got any. Nobody was EVER at the front desk, and it was hard to tell workers from visitors since nobody wore anything identifying them as staff. The hot tub wasn’t available and the pool was drained. Breakfast was stale cereal, plus yogurt and some nearly expired milk in a mini fridge in the side lobby. The furniture wobbled, and one lamp was broken. The only positive was two alcoholic guys offering me and my partner a Bud Light without asking our ages. We declined. I almost asked for a refund, but we had nowhere else nearby where we wanted to visit, and my partner didn’t want the hassle. This was the second-worst hotel I’ve stayed in. Don’t be fooled, stay away. The pictures are all outdated or photoshopped.

The listing’s rating didn’t match what I found. The building looked old and tired, upkeep was poor, and it seemed more like low-income housing than a hotel. The entrance smelled like urine. My wife and I were walking in through our entrance, where all the security features were disabled, when we saw a tenant unzip his pants and relieve himself outside. The sink water barely trickled, the lighting was poor, and when I went to the parking lot I saw the front desk guy smoking with another tenant. I didn’t feel comfortable there at all.

There were dead bugs on the floor when I checked in, and the window was so filthy I could hardly see out. The room had no washcloths, soap, or shampoo. There wasn’t an employee at the desk, so I had to call to check in. The hot tub had been filled in years ago, despite being one of the reasons we chose this place, and the indoor pool had no water either. The breakfast information said 6-10 on Saturday and Sunday, but apparently it ended at 9, so I can’t rate it.
