Hampton Inn & Suites Huntsville

The people were nice and accommodating, but we were there for eight days and the room was checked only once. It still hadn't been cleaned or replenished after we were away for two days. Nothing was done or supplied unless we asked. My husband was still in training at checkout, so I asked for an extension. They gave me one hour, and I ended up sitting in the lobby with all our things. The cleaners had already left, and it wouldn't have hurt to let me watch TV in the room for another hour or so. It was frustrating.

Roger gave excellent customer service, and I liked using the elliptical and treadmill in the gym as well as the lounge area. But the room smelled of mold and mildew, and much of the hotel was outdated. We had to take ice-cold showers. The toilet was dirty with mold and mildew, the lampshades needed cleaning, and the telephone was discolored. Carpet in the elevator and foyer was dirty and frayed. The restroom across from the gym had no Kleenex or paper towels. I told the front desk, but when I went back after my workout the next day, both were still missing. Our room's Kleenex was already down to the blue ones when we checked in; housekeeping should have replaced it before our arrival. The ground shakes and the walls are very thin, which made the hotel structure feel unsafe to us. On Sunday, employees had parked their cars under the awning that should be for guests checking in and out. I would never stay here again. My first recommendation is to find and fix the cause of the mold and mildew smell.

I've stayed here several times before and have always found the rooms clean and the hotel hospitable. This time there was old toothpaste on the bathroom shelf under the mirror, lotion smeared on the wall behind the dispenser, and trash under the desk. Not cool, Hamptons.

The hospitality made this feel like a home away from home. Tonya, the manager, was kind, attentive, and kept checking that everything in our room was comfortable. Roger was welcoming and helpful too. Staff greeted us with smiles and made us feel cared for. Wonderful stay, and highly recommended!
