Hyatt Studios Huntsville

The kitchen setup in the room is well equipped, with a stove top, microwave, and refrigerator. A toaster would have been useful, though. It's a brand new hotel with lots of space, clean rooms, and fluffy towels. The “Grab and Go” breakfast is just a Nutri-Grain bar and coffee.

We had enough room for our 18-month-old and three-year-old to play, and the TV had a few kids' channels to help settle them when needed. The room and bed were comfortable, the staff incredibly friendly and helpful, and the full kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, sink, microwave, dishwasher, and stove. It's a great family spot for visiting the Huntsville Space and Rocket Center, about 5-19 minutes away, close enough to go easily without paying extra to stay right next to it. I would've liked a full breakfast, but with nearly a full kitchen that isn't enough to lower my rating. Staff mentioned that more Hyatt Studios are opening, so we'll look for one first on future trips.

HOUSEKEEPING STEALS! The worst part was what happened with my credit card. I left it in the room, checked out, and when I got home saw a pending cash advance charge dated the day I left. I had only taken the card out once during the trip, to pay in my room the day before, and I never take cash advances. The only person in my room after checkout was the maid. When I called, the manager wasn't working, which seemed strange for there to be no manager on site, and the woman who answered didn't sound concerned or apologetic. The room also had a thick, nasty layer of dust on the dish shelf and on top of the fridge. I stayed three days and got no turn-down service at all. Breakfast was weak coffee or tea, a low-quality packaged muffin or Nutri-Grain bar, or a banana or orange. It didn't feel like breakfast. Whenever I went down for coffee, the canister was empty and staff seemed annoyed when I asked for some. Quite a disappointing stay. I'd avoid this place if you can.

We stopped for one night to break up a long drive, and this was just right. These new-style Hyatt Studios seem well suited to a night or a longer weekend or week away. The rooms are very clean and spacious, with a fully equipped kitchen and full-size fridge. Highly recommend, and I hope Hyatt opens more of these Studios soon.
