Marriott Huntsville At The Space & Rocket Center

What keeps bringing me back to this Huntsville hotel is the staff. I've made several trips to town over the years and stayed at a few trusted places, and this one has become a regular choice. It isn't the newest property, but it's been thoughtfully updated, stays clean, has fair rates, and is close to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, which works well for business or leisure. The M Club was a highlight. Kimberly was keeping the snack area neat and stocked while helping guests and still making time for a warm chat. Her cheerful energy and lovely Bahamian accent made the place feel welcoming. At breakfast, Alley was kind and attentive as usual, and Chef Snoop came out when he could to check that people were happy with the food. When I asked for grits, he brought me a bowl himself. At check-in, Timothy greeted me with a smile and easy conversation, asked about my trip, and made sure I could rest after the drive. He also confirmed my room was clean and feather-free as I'd requested, which I appreciated. MaKayla is always a pleasure at the desk, remembers returning guests, and makes it feel a little like coming home. When something needs adjusting, the staff handle it with gracious Southern hospitality, wherever they're from. I didn't see Ms. Edneva this time, but her care as a manager shows in the hotel's cleanliness and kind atmosphere. The rooms and food areas are kept clean, the updates are welcome, and the location is excellent. It's the staff's warmth and pride that make me want to return. If you're in Huntsville and want a clean, comfortable stay with caring service, this is a solid choice.

We were in town to see my stepson, who was working nearby, and the location suited us perfectly. The room was comfortable and clean, with a balcony, though it could use some updating and more attention to detail. We didn't get a chance to try many amenities, but the bartender made one of the best espresso martinis we've ever had. The staff were friendly, too.

The people working here are generally friendly and want to help, though I get the sense poor management may be holding them back. With better management, this could probably be a three- or four-star hotel. I've stayed here many times, and it's pretty much what you'd expect for the area: a place aimed squarely at government contractors and Space Camp. The property is old and has recurring problems, even though the rooms are usually clean and reasonably comfortable. The gym is a decent size with a good amount of equipment. I haven't used the pool. Internet service is terrible, so don't pay for it. The club is hit or miss, as if they stock it on Monday and that's all; once things run out, they're gone. Food is barely passable and overpriced. I wouldn't buy breakfast, though I get it "free" as a Titanium Elite member. The dinner "steakhouse" is overpriced trash and I'd avoid it. Bar seats wobble, prices are too high, and the food is only passable, assuming they haven't run out of something. I've also had a stay when the only water was scalding hot, making a shower almost impossible.

This is my favorite place to stay in Huntsville, and the food and service are great. Rooms can be pricey, especially without breakfast vouchers. Coffee is only available to top-tier members, so even as Gold Elite I can't get the 24/7 coffee.
