The room was beautiful, clean and quiet, though the bed was hard. Getting to the hotel was a little tricky because of construction. The outdoor pool was drained, and breakfast started at 7 instead of 6 like at most Choice hotels. There were waffles but not much else.

The two women at the desk were nice, but that’s about my only positive. Our room was dingy and not very clean, and we found three roaches in it. The place badly needs updating and a remodel. Breakfast was just three kinds of cereal in canisters, waffles or toast. Stay somewhere else.

The bathroom and small fitness center were the best parts, and the Texas-shaped waffles were good. The sausage, though, was still frozen, and the hot breakfast was mediocre at best. Staff were limited, so I couldn’t report my concerns. We arrived late and couldn’t cancel, so this was a last resort for one quick night. The second floor smelled of mold and mildew, and our room was much worse. It was so damp that I used the desk chair to prop the door open for ventilation. Building maintenance is lacking. It worked for an overnight stop, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Maybe a full renovation could make it a quality stay someday. Proceed with caution.

I checked out today. The rooms are nice and clean, but Melissa at the front desk was rude, lazy and unprofessional. She wouldn’t print the receipt I needed for work, and whenever I came out, she sat down and didn’t want to help. I also asked for towels and got no help. She’s not a good fit for the business.
