Studio 6 Extended Stay - Huntsville, AL University Drive

We were relieved to leave and wouldn’t stay here again. The location, working air conditioning, and good water pressure were the only positives. We expected basic cleanliness and safety, not luxury, and didn’t even get that. The place badly needs maintenance and upgrades. We booked Studio 6 at the last minute because there weren’t many hotels available. Our first room, Room 154, had a king bed and seemed set up for longer stays. At first it looked adequate, but there was a used washcloth on the mirror, almost no toilet paper, worn bedding, and a loose, unstable sink. We tried calling the front desk but no one answered, and we had to leave for an event. Around 10 p.m. we came back and tried the bell and the posted phone number again, with no response. At about 1 a.m. the sink came completely off and shattered on the floor, making a loud crash and flooding the area. It was very distressing. We reported it at 7 a.m. and were moved to Room 254. That room was in similar shape: dirty linens with what looked like bodily stains and hair, cigarette burns on the blankets, and poor overall cleanliness. We didn’t expect luxury, but we did expect clean bedding, fresh towels, and somewhere safe. I can’t recommend it unless there are absolutely no other choices, and even sleeping in your car might be cleaner.

There was dried vomit on the bathroom wall and debris under the bed sheets. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly, and even the photos show a nasty shower. My boss booked the room, and I’m asking to move for the rest of my stay.

They entered my room WITHOUT PERMISSION!!!! Renovations are underway, and guests are put in rooms right next to literal jackhammering. The showers are COLD, I was panhandled in the parking lot, and the thin doors let you hear birds singing all night. The neighborhood felt so bad that the parking lot security lights kept the birds awake ALL night. The room had been renovated, but the mattress seemed as old as the building. When I flipped it over myself, I found used condoms underneath. I had to leave early because the noise was horrible. I didn’t feel safe sitting in my car to make calls on that side of town, and the noise meant I couldn’t work or make calls from the hotel. I’d prepaid for a week for work before the jackhammering started, but they didn’t refund the unused nights. The room itself was okayish, but everything else made it UNSTAYABLE. The front desk staff were AWFUL. Don’t be fooled by the pictures or waste your money. Spend a few extra bucks for a decent hotel where you can feel SAFE and take HOT showers.

The rooms were disgusting, with burn holes in the blankets, yellow stains on the sheets and walls, and an A/C that DOES NOT WORK. We’re from out of town and would NEVER stay here again. Spend your money somewhere else.
