Motel 6 Huron, OH - Sandusky

The pool and hot tub were at great temperatures, and the front desk staff were very nice at check-in and checkout. Motel 6 is a decent drive from Cedar Point. The beds weren't as good as the ones at home, but they weren't bad for the price, and it was a place to sleep. I'd stay again. A few things could be better. I wish the pool stayed open later so we could soak in the hot tub after Cedar Point. Our floor hadn't been swept, with trash under the bedside tables. I planned to ask for it to be cleaned while we were out, but there was nobody at the desk when we left. The fridge had three or four inches of ice in its top part and didn't keep things cold. The microwave smelled horrible, so we didn't use it again. We couldn't get the TV working properly, though that wasn't a big deal since we were going back to Cedar Point when we woke up. The window was cracked open the first night, and we didn't notice until morning, so it was cold. We heard the train a few times each night, but it wasn't as loud as I expected.

The rooms are good, though a little dated, and I like the ones with the counter in the middle for the sink, fridge, and microwave so we can bring food. Staff were great and helpful. The hot tub and pool area is great too. The bathrooms could use a deep clean around the baseboards and walls. There's a great Mexican restaurant across the bridge, and Cedar Point is a good distance away.

I was comfortable in the decent room, and the price wasn't high. The heated pool and jacuzzi were a nice surprise. It was great jumping into warm water instead of a cold pool, and I loved it. You can sometimes hear a train, but it wasn't loud and didn't bother me. I stayed two days. The one thing I missed was breakfast, but I'd still recommend this hotel.

A few staff members were nice, but one woman threatened to call the police on my dad, sister, and brother while they were just swimming, and staff laughed at and mocked my sister for no reason. My friend who came with us was racially profiled. The room itself had major problems: the sink was broken with mold in the cracks, and the bathroom railing was moldy. The door handle was broken, the lock barely worked, and the door was scratched and damaged. There was no cold water in the shower. There were no fans, bath mat, or plastic bathroom liners, and the shampoo and conditioner came mixed together in a little plastic bag with a body-wash-like consistency. The hot tub railing was breaking away from the concrete, and there were cracks in the ceilings of both the pool room and my room. At first the pool seemed okay, but after swimming for a few days my hair became very dry and hard. When we asked what chemicals they used, they refused to tell us. Our room key stopped working, but they didn't want to give us another room, so we stayed there overnight until they fixed it. Don't let the low price fool you. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
