Holiday Inn Express Hutchinson by IHG

Natalie at the front desk had a great attitude and personality. She’s exactly the kind of person I’d want at the desk for my company, and with everything else equal, she’d influence which hotel I chose. The room was clean and breakfast was good, especially the turkey sausage. A few things were missing or off: no tub stopper for my wife to soak, no laundry bag, and the alarm clock wasn’t working. I noticed the next morning it wasn’t plugged in. My work background may make me more critical than most, but I’d definitely return.

We booked through Orbitz for $110. After picking up our keys, we opened the room door and found people already inside. We shut it quickly, and they came out to ask what was going on. We explained, and they were understanding. The hotel gave us another room, but it only had a king bed, so my wife, son, and I had to share it. That wasn’t good. In the morning, we heard the cleaning staff talking in Spanish and understood that there had been a bedbug problem. We searched our room but, thank God, didn’t find anything. Aside from that, things were fine. We usually look for Holiday Inns because they’re nearly new and include breakfast, which is a plus for us.

The breakfast area didn’t have much seating, though the breakfast staff were very nice. My room was clean but old and outdated, with lumpy pillows. On arrival, I found someone else was already staying in the room I’d been assigned. The hotel was booked, so they bumped someone else who hadn’t arrived yet. Frustrating.

I stayed here a year ago and was happy with it. The front desk attendant was nice, and my room was clean. It was a great hotel, with nothing to complain about. Thanks!
