Cape Cod Hotel

We couldn't complete our one-night stay because of the frankly negligent condition of the pet room we were given. The bed had stains and bugs, there was mold in the shower, and the room was musty and smelled awful. I made a reservation for one night, but management hasn't contacted me to discuss anything. They've simply refused a refund or any other remedy without even talking to me. The hotel's standard of care and the local management and customer service response are unacceptable. I also tried contacting Best Western customer service and got nowhere.

The reception staff were very nice, but everything else about our Friday-to-Sunday stay, November 21 to 23, was miserable. We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary and regretted not staying home. We paid for a stay without the peace or rest we wanted: there was construction noise and dirt, a marijuana smell near our room, and the pool was dirty, cold, and unusable, with sludge on the bottom. There was no jacuzzi either. The hotel didn't tell us when we booked that renovation work was underway or that the jacuzzi wasn't available. The booking photos are outdated and only show the front of the hotel. We were put in rooms outside the main building, which meant crossing outside in the cold. If I'd known the rooms were like that, I wouldn't have booked. The website promises daily room cleaning, but our room wasn't cleaned and the towels and sheets weren't changed. They say pets are welcome and charge $30 a night, but there's nowhere to walk a dog. Is this really a pet-friendly hotel? Update the photos and warn guests about the renovation and missing jacuzzi. Stop misleading people. What a shame. I don't recommend it at all.

Our room was like a matchbox, with barely any space to move or put our luggage. There were three of us and our 5 lb. dog. As a VIP member, I mistakenly thought that would mean something. We've traveled a lot with our family dog and usually haven't had issues. At this Cape Cod Best Western, we asked for a different room, but only the manager could decide. The manager wasn't there, and when we asked to speak with him, we were told no. We kept hearing that he comes and goes as he feels like it, and that even when he's there, guests can't talk to him. We're now looking elsewhere. Best Western Plus, the name doesn't live up to the experience. Customer service is gone, which is sad. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Breakfast was great, thanks to Lydia, who's a hard worker, kind, patient, and a great cook. You're lucky to have her, and we'll come back because of her. The pool was nice and warm too. Good job, Best Western Cape Cod, and thank you, Lydia!
