Vu Guesthouse

The decorations and cleanliness were lovely, and staff seemed willing to help with whatever we needed. The hotel itself is beautiful, but the location felt like a rough part of town. We paid $250 for one night, then got a Booking.com notice saying we could have stayed for $100 less, so I felt overcharged. There’s no breakfast, just tea and coffee. Our room had no mini-fridge or microwave, and we had to get ice from the front desk because there are no ice machines for guests. Birds nesting at the window kept pecking at the glass. The heating and air unit wasn’t easy to use, and our room was right across from the elevator, where people were loud. Guests above us sounded like they ran around all night, and at 1 a.m. we had to call the desk about loud music. Check-in was rough because one woman had to cover both the bar and front desk, making it hard for her to attend to customers.

The rooms are gorgeous and impeccably clean, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I loved the furnishings, the vision behind the place, and its atmosphere. The location is great too. It’s Louisville, so nothing is far. If boutique hotels aren’t your thing, don’t take off stars because there’s no fridge or microwave. Come for the design and the quality of the place.

I had such a relaxing, enjoyable stay and loved the whole experience. My room was comfortable and really clean, and the staff were courteous and helpful. I also had a few drinks at the lobby bar. The bartender was cool and professional. I’ll definitely come back. Thank you!

The room was pleasant and the shower was amazing, which helped make up for some awkwardness. It was small and dim, and there was no coffee maker or mini fridge. The setup was quite different from what we expected, and from other hotel stays we’ve had in Louisville, though it wasn’t bad. The hotel is attached to a gay men's brothel and is in a not-so-nice part of town.
