The maintenance could have been better, but the rooms looked nicer than I expected, and the value earns it four stars instead of three. You can tell somebody put money into the hotel at some point.

I asked for a non-smoking room, but it clearly smelled like someone had smoked in it. I’ve never smoked in my life, so I was glad they returned my deposit and didn’t charge me a smoking fee.

The non-smoking room smelled strongly of ashtrays. The bed was nice, though more than three pillows would’ve been good. Someone upstairs stomped around until 11:40 p.m. It wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but we heard other guests five rooms down complaining about the same thing.

The room was clean, and I liked the huge fridge, which meant no fighting over space for my drinks and his beer, plus the USB charging ports. The people were nice, and it was convenient for the expo center. The parking lot is tight, though, and the room could use work. The shower rod was bent, the bathroom door wouldn’t close fully, and the soap was VERY drying. The TV had the most basic cable setup, and I’d bring my own pillow. It was noisy all night from traffic and sirens, and it seemed to be right under the airport flight path. Not the best, but definitely not the worst.
